One Man Army
I am alone.
In this desolate battlefield.
My brothers are gone.
Shot into a fool's death.

With my rifle as my companion.

They throw swarms at me.
Firing their weapons into the depths I hide.
I stand and shoot back.
What I hear is only so few.
The roar of my rifle.
The tinkling of metal cases.
The cries of my enemy.
What I feel is only so few.
The recoil that hits my shoulder
Striking down an enemy with each hit.
Feeling the bullet strike him down.
Bit by very bit.
What I can see is only the sights of my rifle.
For what my mind cannot see, my body does in its stead.
For all hope seems lost to the mind but the body can only try.
