The Swedish ESWC qualifier turned out to be a thrilling roller-coaster ride for H2K, first as they almost failed to go through into play-off, then they hit a high note by taking MYM down in the semi-final. H2K entered that match as an under-dog, then they advanced into the final against PlayZone, as big time favourites.
On the first map, train, rather surprisingly, the two teams went head to head throughout, with H2K putting a bit of space between them and the rival team only in the last few rounds, closing the score at 16-14 to them. The second map, nuke, wasn't as balanced though, with PlayZone powering strongly from the very beginnings, letting little breathing space for H2K. A shocking evolution in the second map saw the score at the end settled at 16-2 to PlayZone's advantage.
Being a best-out-of-three final, dust2 was picked as the decider of the team which gets the ESWC qualifying spot. H2K have to be praised here as they managed to get back into the game from the first rounds; BARBARR and co. dominated, leaving no space for mistakes this time around and quickly closing the third map score at 16-9. This brings the Stockholm ESWC qualifier down to the following placements:
