The Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas will once again be teeming with people and hundreds of computers as the mecca of Quakers across the globe comes to life this August. The official QUAKECON® 2011 dates have been announced! QuakeCon is a FREE to attend annual gaming festival and party run by a team of volunteers from QuakeCon.org. Supported by id® Software and Bethesda Softworks®, many sponsors and exhibitors also set up shop at this annual event to showcase their latest hardware and software offerings.
One of the star attractions of the event is and always has been its BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party with thousands of gamers competing on a state of the art network. The event is also known for John Carmack's keynote speech which is usually related to newer projects and/or announcements. Here are the details of the event:
