The Final Match for the tournament is a Best of 3 games as had been for the entire tournament including the group stages. The race matchup will be a Zerg vs Zerg which usually finish very fast. The first map is Scrap Station with inFiRevenant starting at the left side of the map with ice on the right side.
inFiRevenant went for the fastest rush of Zerg which is a 6 pool.
Initial Greetings with Revenant on the left
ice on the right unaware of an incoming 6 pool
ice went for a highly economic opening of 14 hatch, the build that can defend a 6 pool the least. ice's overlord managed to scout the spawning pool just Revenant's zerglings are done.
14 Hatchery is a very poor defense against 6 pool
ice rushes for his own defense as Revenant sends his zerglings in a race against time. They shortly meet at ice's base.
ice's response at his discovery
Ice fought to buy time for his own zerglings to hatch by pulling drones. It was all down to unit micro between the two players, ice trying to minimize losses while Revenant going for the kill.
Ice's own zerglings hatched and engaged immediately but Revenant's reinforcements arrived at that very moment too. A huge micro mistake of ice returning his drones costed him his zerglings and taps out.
Game 2
The map for this game is Xelnaga Cavern. Again, another 2 player map. After initial greetings, ice decides to give payback.
The Greetings and starting locations
Revenant not so rushy anymore
Revenant went for a 14 hatchery while ice goes for an 11 pool. Ice's 11 pool rush is more economic but slower which
14 Hatchery
Roles Reversed
The rush wasn't scouted by Revenant at all until the opening attack by ice of morphing two sunken crawlers at his mineral line
Twin crawler zergling rush!
Revenant pulls his drone off mining to defend against the building crawlers while getting zerglings to defend against ice's. ice's zerglings overpowered Revenant's initial group due to numbers but Revenant's reinforcements and Queen forces ice back.
Drones save the day
ice regrouped his units and went for a final attack but Revenant's queen played a vital role and made a successful defense. ice ggs in defeat.
The Final Battle
The Final result is a clean 2-0 win by inFiRevenant. Nevertheless, they are both a winner out of the 34 players who attended the tournament.
Congratulations to Revenant, ice and cobo for their awesome achievements
