CM Storm CS-M Weapon of Choice AK DM Review

CM Storm CS-M Weapon of Choice AK DM Review »

The mousepad comes in a fitting and very descriptive box. From performance statistics to a clothmade sample of the mousepad itself, there was a lot of gist CM-Storm had to say. The mousepad is made from pure natural rubber. The material felt soft but sturdy. Nor is it stiff or extremely flexible either. It's strong enough to take a good amount of wear and tear even with intentional force. It had the AK-47 rifle emblazed right in its centre. It's good looking and it shows testimony to other gamers that this player is not to mess with. Somewhat like the 'bling' effect like jewelry.

What CM-Storm has to say

A sample of the mousepad stuck onto the box

The mousepad has a similar M4 variant of the mousepad for those M4 aficionados. The colour mix for the AK47 though seems much better. The size of the pad is considerable, being 40.5 cm long, 28.5 cm wide and 3mm thick. It's a generally suitable size to choose for it could fit most mouse speed settings. Even the lowest sensitivity gamers could at the least adapt and improvise if necessary.

Putting it to the test

Putting it to the test, I used it for several different functions. They were general usage, gaming and  the occasional graphics work. The mouse I tested it with is the Steel Series Kinzu Optical. The mousepad boosts speed and control by a large margin compared to the tabletop or a generic mousepad. The precision was there, helping me reach the needed tight spots. CM-Storm tried to balance between speed and control, two conflicting variables. They boosted control by applying fine grooves on the surface while increasing speed by surface texture. I didn't feel the need for more speed or control, it was just right. The mousepad has a strong grip to the base surface. Any hard and fast movements I made didn't budget the mousepad at all. CM-Storm was correct on their aggressive anti slip.

Nevertheless, the mousepad does have a downside. First of all, the mousepad feels noticeably sticky at the bottom. Although it's suppose to help in preventing slipping, it does give a sense of an unclean mousepad. Other gaming mousepads felt more hygienic and still could maintain their grips. So why not this one?

Overall though, the CS-M Weapon of Choice AK DM mousepad is a great performing mousepad. It is also very versatile in terms of size and requirements. If your interested to start off with a new gaming mousepad, this is a good choice to go with.
