SteelSeries Kinzu Optical Review

SteelSeries Kinzu Optical Review »

The mouse came in the standard Steel Series packaging. It was nothing special but it didn’t matter. After all, the mouse and the contents inside is what matters. After opening the package, it turns out there wasn’t anything useful other than the mouse. No mouse guide, no CD Driver, only a single piece of paper. Drivers had t o be acquired online, dependent on your operating system.

These two are what's inside

The mouse itself is of a decent size. It’s has a smooth plastic surface. A CPI changer button is available just below the scroll wheel. The CPI switcher changes between two saved CPIs in your profile. It’s useful for games at different resolution such as Counter Strike (say at 1024 x 720) and Starcraft (Permanently at 640 x 480) which affects the mouse speed. That is until I learnt about the multiple profiles. You can change profiles by holding the CPI changer button for 2 seconds. However, it’s troublesome because it changes depending on how long you hold it. Inaccuracy may happen for it might jump over your desired profile. So, the CPI changer seems to be an easier alternative.

to me, lacking buttons is one of the biggest setbacks, though it will be a tremendous advantage when it comes to purely RTS players

prefer a xai over kinzu but a nice mouse nonetheless!

Do you burn? Cause I do. And it takes two to tango.
